RK Steel Project Piling Works at Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

My very first site visit with TAISEI MYANMAR CORPORATION as a Project Management Intern was at Thilawa Special Economic Zone, which is about two hours drive from Yangon. The client is RK Steel Yangon and construction works officially started on 28th December 2018. Test piling was commenced on the same day under supervision by various professionals from Japan and Myanmar.

A 420-tonnes pile driver (as shown in picture) was used for the piling process. The piling contractor is GEO-Tech Pile Co., Ltd.

In addition to Total Station, Plumb bob was also used to ensure the pile is positioned in a straight manner.
